Evolve is for you if

  • You are a visual artist or craftsperson with some experience. This could be through formal or informal studies, or you are self-taught.

  • You are committed to your art and your craft. You don't have to be doing it full time.

  • You are open to being challenged in a supportive and safe environment and do things you may not have done before.

At the heart of Evolve is the development of your work. Without strong, resolved, distinct work, opportunities are difficult to access. Everything comes from the work itself. 

 

Led by a practicing artist

Evolve is shaped by my lived experience as a maker. The challenges, doubts and sensitivities of creative work are not abstract, they are well understood. 

 

Live and interactive

Evolve is not a passive course. It is live and interactive, with real-time critique, conversation and accountability. There is no one-size-fits-all advice. Alongside my guidance, guest experts contribute specialist insights that deepen your understanding of key areas of practice and presentation. Real change happens in the room.

 

 

 

Why I Can Help

 

I am a ceramic artist with over 25 years of professional practice. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Masters of Arts Management from RMIT University.

My work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, supported by grants and residencies, and collected by major public institutions including the National Gallery of Victoria.

Alongside my studio practice, I bring 18 years of experience in gallery and exhibition management. I understand both how work is made and how it is presented, positioned and valued.

My postgraduate research focused on writing for visual artists, an area that underpins all of my programs. 

I am both supportive and rigorous. I listen carefully and challenge artists to surpass their own expectations, strengthening both their work and their professional practice.
